SUPERIOR, Wis.—The University of Northwestern squad made the haul up I-35 to the University of Wisconsin–Superior on Saturday for the Yellowjacket Open.
Meet ResultsBaruch Fischer (Silver Bay, Minn./William M Kelly HS) and
Chris Compton (St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park) both secured top 10 placements in the men's shot put event. Fischer came in seventh with a throw of 12.41 meters and Compton was on his heels in ninth, throwing 12.09 meters.
The Eagle runners secured second place out of five teams in the 4x200-meter relay (1:39.04). Placing third in the 600-meter run was
Wil Maki (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing) with a time of 1:26.75 while
Steve Baridon (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Waterloo West) came in 10th in the same event (1:32.24). Leroy Malone and
Kyle Anenson (Chanhassen, Minn./Chanhassen) placed sixth (24.11) and eighth (24.34), respectively, in the 22-man 200-meter dash.
Next Friday, Northwestern heads to the Minnesota Men's Snowshoe Invite at the University of Minnesota.
